Mistress Jo discovers that one of her has escaped. Believing one of the stable boys to be responsible, she tortures them to find out. She tramples them into the mud, makes them eat mud from beneath her boots. She hangs them up and whips them for information. Then she rides one of them into a pool of muddy water where she crushes his head beneath her boots into it.
