Benedetta Bernardelli is falsely accused of spying and of treason. The interrogators must find a perpetrator, and she seems to be a good choice. But Benedetta won't break easily. The interrogators must use their darkest methods to get a confession from her. And once she gives them what they want, she receives a much sterner punishment than what she was promised.
